Prometheus Why?
Much time has passed since that June 2008 in which the future structure of the school was handed over to the arid language of numbers: 7.8 billion less, resulting in the elimination of 132mila jobs. It has since been a succession of defeats for the movement in defense of public schools, the reform of the reorganization of primary secondary, the ax cuts, which hit with surgical precision on tens of thousands of workers, the law Brunetta, the mockery of "save-insecure." It is not over yet: they are around the corner designs profound redefinition of the organizational-regulated directions of schools, the legal transformation of the teaching profession, the replacement of the lists are exhausted cloudy with professional bodies, while they remain absent from political debate the social value of journalism school and the future of its workers.

His goal: to find the thread that ties the school policy of the last quindicennio, dalla legge sull’autonomia ai progetti Aprea e Goisis, per comprenderne le tendenze di fondo, senza fermarsi alla superficie delle dichiarazioni politiche dettate dall’opportunismo. Manca ancora tra i lavoratori della scuola piena consapevolezza dell’intima unità dei singoli provvedimenti, dell’organicità del disegno complessivo che avanza inesorabile, sotto la crosta dei mutamenti politici apparenti. Restituire la trama di questi processi è il compito ambizioso che ci poniamo, senza la presunzione di poterlo esaurire nell’angusto limite di queste pagine.
L’idea di una riflessione che preceda l’azione non implica una chiusura nell’ambito della pura teoria. Al contrario, è nostro auspicio che l’analisi possa fornire strumenti utili a un’efficace opposizione ai processi in atto, nella convinzione che ai lavoratori spetti il compito di difendere il proprio posto di lavoro, i diritti, il salario e, per questo tramite, la scuola stessa. Per farlo, non vediamo alternativa alla strada del conflitto, a cui l’analisi deve indicare di volta in volta obiettivi, compiti e mezzi. Per questo motivo, apriamo il numero 0 con un vademecum della solidarietà e della non-collaborazione, per cominciare bene il terzo anno di mobilitazione contro il disegno di smantellamento della scuola pubblica e attenuare, per quanto possibile, l’effetto dei tagli sui lavoratori precari.
